NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees are going back to the World Series after beating the Anaheim Angels 5-2 in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series.
New York’s pitcher Andy Pettitte carried the team to a record 40th league title after shutting down the Angels for 61/3 innings. It’s the first time since 2003 that the Yankees will have another chance to fight for the World Series championship title.
The series begins on Wednesday October 28, when the Yankees will face the Philadelphia Phillies in the Bronx.
