The Philadelphia Phillies put on hold the Yankees plans to celebrate on Tuesday night, as they beat them 6-8 in Game five of the Baseball World Series.

Phillies’ Chase Utley two home runs and four RBI, helped Philadelphia stay alive and close the gap in the series to 3-2. The Yankees are still on the lead.

Phillies’ Pitcher Cliff Lee, with 4-0 in this postseason, did exactly what it was expected of him while the Yankees’ A.J. Burnett was badly beaten, with the Phillies scoring three runs in his first eight pitches.

The Phillies are expected to use Pedro Martinez on Game 6 in New York, while the Yankees may put Andy Pettitte to work despite his 48-hours rest. If the game goes Philadelphia’s way, then Cliff Lee will be ready for another round against the Yankees in game seven.

This Wednesday’s game will be the first time since 2003 the fall classic has lasted past five games.
