NEW YORK -- In an interview with CBS "60 Minutes," Tennis star Andre Aggasi said he needed help when in 1997 he took crystal meth while depressed.
In the interview, conducted by CBS News Evening Anchor Katie Couric, Agassi got emotional when Couric read a quote from Tennis star Martina Navratilova who criticizes him for drug abuse.
"It's what you don't want to hear," Agassi ssaid. "I would hope along with that would come some compassion that maybe this person doesn't need condemnation. Maybe this person could stand a little help. Because that was at a time in my life when I needed help.
